I took a deep breath as I walked into the store owned by my mate. She was there working today, so I decided to show up and get her to talk to me so that I could tell her who I was. Varek was a nervous mess and so was I, but I wasn't about to let that show.
My eyes scanned around until they landed on her. I could already smell her sweet scent in the air. A mixture of vanilla and honey that made my blood boil. I wanted to claim her right then and there, but I couldn't, not when we were not alone here.
My mind instantly went to Emma, wondering how she was doing and if she and Darius were together now. But I shook it off; I couldn't dwell on my feelings for her now when I had a bigger task ahead of me. "Naia, can I have a minute with you?" I asked, trying to get her attention.
