(Emma) Two weeks had passed, but it didn’t feel like it. The war was over, but the burden of it still sat heavily on our shoulders. The pack was trying to move forward, but grief remained in every step, in every whispered conversation. Darius had been distant. More than usual. He still held my hand at night, still pulled me close when he thought I needed it, but something was different. He was there, but at the same time, he wasn’t. I tried to be patient. I gave him space.
