(Emma) I opened my eyes and took a slow breath, trying to push the fear away. Lying here, doing nothing, wasn’t helping. I needed to keep my mind busy before I drove myself crazy with worry. I forced myself to sit up even though my body protested. My legs felt weak as I swung them over the side of the bed. I sat there for a moment, catching my breath, before I finally pushed myself to my feet. My head spun slightly, but I ignored it. I wasn’t going to let this stop me. I walked toward the small table where a tray of food had been left for me. The sight of it made my stomach turn, but I forced myself to take a few bites. I needed the energy. My pup needed it. Once I finished, I wiped my hands and left the room. The hallway was quiet, which made sense. Most of the warriors were either re
