(Darius) I followed my father and Selene out of the room, my shoulders tense. I wasn’t sure what they wanted, but I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be an easy conversation. They led me into a quieter space down the hall. My father turned to face me, his expression unreadable. Selene stood beside him, wringing her hands together like she was nervous. That was new.
