Miriam's POV Pure fear pulses through my veins at this moment. I sit tied to a chair as I look at my unconscious mother who is hanging from the ceiling in chains. Her lip is bleeding, and her breathing is shallow. "Ma, please wake up", I choked out softly, trying to stay quiet at the same time. I fiddled with my restraints, attempting to untie myself. Of course, my attempts were met with failure, over and over again. I growled in frustration. "Ma, wake up, please", I pleaded, stomping my feet. The door of the run-down room we were in, opened.
