This has to be the most awkward family dinner that I have ever attended. The tension in the room is so thick that one can barely breathe. I understand why Marabella doesn't want the children to know who her father really is. I am sure it would be hard for the children to cope with the fact that one of their grandfathers killed the other. And with the comment that Colin just made, every adult at the table knew what he was insinuating.
