[Jade] "What in the world do you mean?" I asked him in shock. "I meant what I said." "You don't even know me." I yelled. "Doesn't matter, I know what I need to know about you, you're not underestimating my abilities are you?" He asked, smirking at me. "I can't, I haven't even been to college yet." I sniffed, trying not to cry. I could not believe what the universe was doing to me, it was throwing my dream job and my dream school right in front of me but in the worst circumstances possible. "Doesn't matter?" He shrugged. "It will be a part time position until you graduate from college, you will have everything you've ever wanted at your disposal." "Why are you tempting me?" I sighed. "I'm not." He looked offended for a second before his expression changed. "That's the devil's job besides you wouldn't find it tempting if you didn't want it or if you aren't considering it." "It's a really amazing opportunity, I just don't know why you're giving it to someone you just met a few days ago." I pouted. "Like I said, everything I need to know about you, I already do, you're interested in art like I am and you have a rare talent for art and stories, I saw your expression when you were studying the painting, you were interpreting each color into a story." He said. He was right, I was really good at this stuff and if I was being honest, this opportunity was a once in a lifetime opportunity and it was a little too good for me to pass up. "I don't know what to say." I closed my eyes and massaged my temples with my hand. "I don't expect you to make a decision now." He sighed and dropped his cup of tea on the saucer. "Why don't you let me give you a tour of the publishing house first then you can decide." Well, I couldn't say no to that now could I. "Sounds great." I smiled and he picked up his tea again. "Great, I'll send a car to your hotel to pick you up tomorrow morning." He said and signalled to the waiter, she came running immediately and he asked her for the check. My eyes nearly popped out when she brought the bill, he just had a cup of tea and I just had an ice tea with chocolate, I could not believe that our total came up to a whopping five hundred dollars. Von paid the check and even tipped the waiter with over one hundred dollars, she left our table smiling happily. I didn't comment on the check because I knew that I was in a world of rich people, my family wasn't rich since my mother had to raise us by herself after my father died, we had some luxuries that other people couldn't afford like cars in highschool and a beautiful house with a pool but not that much luxury. It wasn't until I started going out with Mason did I get a taste of this kind of luxury and even then I tried not to get used to it. After I became Luna though, my status elevated and I knew true luxury but even at that, the prices of somethings did surprise me a lot. "Thank you very much for lunch." I thanked him when he walked me to the car. "I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled at me and walked away before I got the chance to give him a hug. Hugo drove me back home and I went to have a shower. I felt so tense and I really needed a release, as the warm shower poured down my body, I began to fantasize about Mason. His arms running down my body, his kisses all over my neck, his gentle and rough squeezes, the slight grazing of his teeth along my earlobe that made me shiver. His hands wreaking havoc on my melons and their hardened knob, his fingers exploring my mound and pushing in and out of my tight and sleek passage. "Oh, Mason." I began to moan as I grabbed my melons, tweaked their peeks and pushed my fingers into my feminine heat. I began to pump my fingers faster as my moans increased and I did not stop until I reached my peak. I felt the sweet pleasure of romance as I washed off and wrapped a towel around my body. Throughout the night, I couldn't sleep, I just kept tossing and turning, my mind was full and I did not know what to do. I wished I would meet the old woman again so she could explain what she meant by things that could be changed. If she meant that my bond with Mason could be changed, how would that work and would it mean that I could move to New York and take the position? At least until I finished school, I had no wish to be away from Mason but if we could just separate for a bit, if we could just make long distance work, then we would be okay. I drifted off to school and then I had a really mind blowing dream. In the dream I was back at the bench and the old woman was seated there waiting for me. "I see you're back dear?" She smiled at me, motioning for me to come to her. "I'm back, granny." I smiled at her and she tapped the space beside her for me to take a seat. I took a seat and we both were watching the sunset together, it was like the sunset from Von Helsing's painting. "Hey granny, do you remember what you told me the last time? I can't stop thinking about it." I confessed to her. "Oh yes, I remember dear, the fact that nothing is permanent and everything can be changed, even bonds." She said and I smiled. I smiled because she wasn't being cryptic, she was being straight forward and it was great for my mental health. "I thought bonds are permanent, aren't they?" I asked. "You're a witch dear, you manipulate things that people think are permanent on a daily basis, time that people think is constant, you manipulate it when it gets into your hands, why would you think there was anything that can't be manipulated?" She asked. "I don't know, I guess it's because it's something that was made by the moon goddess, I guess." I said, totally unsure. "And the world, nature, time, all were created by the supreme God, do you think the moon goddess is more powerful than the one who made it all, her included?" She shook her head and smiled with her eyes. "There is much you do not know, my child, but all will be revealed to you, only if you seek for them." Okay, she was officially being cryptic again. "So there's a way that I can be here in New York city while my mate would be in Florida, there's a way that could work out?" I asked her, looking around skeptically. "Of course, the bonds can even be severed if that's what you're looking for." She said, That sounded a bit too dark for me because I didn't even want to imagine the consequences of that action. "No, that could hurt him, I don't want him to be hurt." I told her. "I have more to tell you, but I must go now, you're not prepared for the rest of them." She stood up from the bench, grabbed her stroller and started to walk away. "Granny, wait, wait." I called out to her but she wasn't responding. "Wait." I called out one last time and I woke up on my bed in the hotel room. I looked around me a little disoriented and I stared at the walls for a while before I got my bearings. It was already morning and as I remembered that Von was sending a car to pick me up, I jumped off the bed and rushed into the bathroom. It took a long time to get ready but when I got out of the bathroom and stared at myself in the full-length mirror in the room, I knew that it was worth it. I was dressed in a long silk green gown that matched the color of my eyes. I had on black ballet flats and I wore a black blazer on top of the gown. I wanted to look as corporate as I could so I packed my hair into a tight bun and I used minimal makeup, I also carried a hand bag and just as I was smoothing out my outfit. My phone rang and when I answered it was Von telling me that the car was downstairs. I went downstairs immediately and after dropping my key card for the receptionist, mainly because I did not want to lose it. I made it out of the hotel and I found Hugo first so I informed him that I was going to go out without him today. When I found the car that Von had sent for me, I was surprised to see him coming out of the car. "I thought you said you were going to send a car?" I asked him, laughter dancing in my eyes. "Yes, I did and…" He raised an eyebrow at me then he looked thoughtful for a second. "Is the car not to your liking? He asked. "Oh no, it's great, it's just that when you send a car to pick someone, you don't necessarily have to accompany the car too." I chuckled and his eyes lit up in understanding. "Oh, I guess I wanted to." He smiled and then opened the door for me to get in. *** The publishing house was more than I had expected, it was a huge building with a lot of offices. It had so many book cases, even the stairs was a bookshelf kind of staircase, there were books in shelves under the railings of the stairs. He led me to the corner office and it was so beautiful, the view from up there was amazing and I really fell in love with the office decor the moment we stepped in. "So what do you think?" He asked me. Without thinking, I blurted out immediately that I loved it, I could barely keep the words from coming out, they just tumbled out on their own. "Yes." I agreed without hesitation.
