(I know the last chapter was from Chrissy’s POV as well, but this chapter is a continuation of the last chapter.)
When I leaned back from Nadie, I found Daya looking at me expectantly.
“What?” I asked her.
She grinned. “I’m waiting to hear Lilac’s opinion of me.”
“Oh!” I exclaimed with a laugh.
‘Daya is as loyal as they come,’ Lilac told me, ‘and people like that are rare nowadays. And Laniah is sharp as a tack. The two of them together are an amazing team. I’m grateful that Daya and Laniah were looking out for you long before I came along.’
