Chapter Forty Four – Disturbing News
The sun shone high in the sky its rays pricked on Eva’s fair skin as she pulled down a pair of aviator sunglasses from the top of her head to block out its blinding rays. Marco stood alongside her, shaking hands with the Simoncelli guards who had come to escort them from the small private airfield to the house he called home. Eva stood silently as she watched each guard bow and kiss the fingers of her husband, then turning to greet her with the same show of reverence.
“Thank you” Eva smiled warmly at each of the men, men that Marco would soon be leading, commanding and relying on for their ultimate sacrifice when the time came that Don Simoncelli would breathe his last breath, she could only hope they had more time before their lives would again
