We were following Ronan when we heard an explosion. All the animals in the forest ran away from it, and you could listen to their panicked cries as they scattered through the underbrush, fleeing in every direction. The birds were not like the ones back home. They were more colorful and way bigger, to the point that their chaotic flying through the forest made the canopies move from side to side.
“What the hell was that?” I asked as I scanned the area for potential harm.
Ronan’s expression hardened, his gaze fixed on the direction of the blast. “Can you feel that?" He asked, but I had no idea what he was talking about.
"Feel it, Jace," Ajax instructed, so I closed my eyes and focused.
"I can't feel anything," Aleksi muttered.
"Shh, my brother is trying to focus," Kase whispered, a
