The whole situation was surreal. After the oath, everyone got up and went about their business as if they just didn’t pledge their lives to us. Colton and Liam escorted Galina to the food table while Aldric continued to hold me. At first, it seemed like people would come up to us but then they scattered, it was odd, but I was relieved.
Aldric looks at me apologetically. “I didn’t think this all the way through,” fear trickles up my spine as he continues. “We informed the pack members that they can meet you but not tonight, that this is a lot for you. They do know that you were raised as a human. But there is no way I cannot introduce you to my mother.”
