When I woke up the next morning, the blanket Everest and I shared was tangled between our bodies. I left my eyes closed, listening to his even breathing and the steady sound of his heart beating next to me. I moved my hand and felt his chest under it. I smiled and opened my eyes. My head was resting where his chest and shoulder met and I swear it was better than any pillow out there. I tilted my head back and kissed his jaw. I slowly moved out of his arms and went to shower.
I got myself ready and when I walked out of the shower, Everest was sitting up on our bed. His hair looked a hot mess and I could tell by the sleep still lingering on his face, he had just woken up. He wore a sleepy smile as he was watching me.
