The train to the mountains was rough but it was the only way to get there. Eric holds my hand while we worried about the body on overhead compartment. The train shook and was unsteady all around and we feared that the trunk would fall, and her body would get even more bruised or ruined.
“I tied her there” Eric whispers while he collects me in his arms like I’m a toddler. His warmth and scent completely engulfing me as he does so. “Her body is safe”
Even if this train was only operated by nonhumans, it was better that they didn’t know Mirage’s body was in the long trunk above them. It was hard enough not to make the trunk look like a coffin but now we have to make sure her body arrives as pristine as possible.
