"Shhh…" Gregory signaled us to stop walking by raising his hand in a fist. We ducked behind the tall grasses, knowing that it may not mask our scents but at least we won't be spotted right away.
He looked back at us then pointed out to the left and the right then raised four fingers up.
I listened carefully for any movements. Without Celeste I'm not sure if my skills would work. But I still tried.
Even with focusing on the sounds around me, it took a few breaths to hear footsteps running towards our direction. It awed me how Gregory spotted them right away given that from when I heard them they seemed around a hundred meters away still.
