In the end, I marked Sunny on Christmas morning. She was opening all of her presents and saw the ring I bought right after I met her. It was exactly like the ring my character in the story proposed to the princess with. She jumped into my lap and kissed me deeply, then bared her neck to me and whispered, “Mark me, Vaughn.”
The roads were clear enough that I was able to drive her to Kelly’s house and I stayed for dinner. Kelly was happy to have someone to share a holiday meal with and excited to get to know Sunny more.
