Carter held his head high as he walked inside. He was scared of bumping into anything on his way inside. As much as he was excited to meet the Kane Sr he had to act nonchalant. That's what he was trained to do.
It was an honour that he was selected to guard a family-like Kane. So many Alphas were jealous when he was picked. Most of them assuming it was politics or nepotism. Carter felt insulted at that because his father was not involved anyway in making such an important decision. Besides, they picked him on pure talent.
"Greetings-"
Kane Sr cut him off, standing up from his seat, "Please don't be formal."
Carter held his breath as both of them inched towards the couch in the corner of the room. They motioned Carter to take a seat in front of them. He followed their instruction.
