Amelia was elated. Nothing could bring her down. She felt free. Carter said he had a surprise for her. The omega wanted to question him further, but he slid away before she got the chance to. He asked her to patiently stay in her room while he gets his “surprise”. Waiting was not her strongest suit, but she tried, slumping on the bed and thinking about everything that happened from the last two weeks.
Melissa let her go after a few hours. Zaid was the one who came to pick them up. As Carter narrated the entire thing to his beta, she felt guilty. Zaid felt clueless and hurt that they kept him in the dark the whole time. She should have involved him from the beginning, but things got out of her hand quickly.
