Natalie “Hey!" I announce my arrival at my parents' house. “Is anybody home?" “Out here." My dad's voice is coming from the back porch. Sighing, I take my shoes off and kick them into the corner with everyone else's. Judging by the shoes lying there, the family's all here. Tossing my purse on the couch, I head toward the back. Seeing a frosty can of Coke on the counter, I grab it and quickly get a glass of ice. As I get closer to the porch, I can smell Dad's pipe. It's the scent of home, and will always be a comfort for me. “About time you got here," Dad says as he waves from where he's sitting in his chair. There's the pipe, sticking out the side of his mouth. “I thought we were gonna have to get started without you." “You're never gonna get started without your favorite." I smirk,
