Claire first heard about it from Dominic. Not many people in their circle knew what had happened.
He said Nelson had gotten dragged away early that morning by a call—wasn't even on speaker, and you could still hear the yelling on the other end. Sounded like a total nightmare. But Dominic didn't sound bothered at all, quite the opposite—he actually sounded pretty amused.
"I seriously don't get why Nelson's still messing with that girl. I mean, sure, maybe he didn't see it before, but after everything he saw last night? He still went to her? Dude's really asking for it."
Dominic never had much patience for the Thompsons. He didn't even attend the dinner party last night, but people talk, and gossip like that spreads fast in their circle.
