(JEN’S POV)
“I don’t know, can’t we just elope, Mr. Blackwell?” I whispered as I sat in front of him in his office, listening to him rattle off head the already cumbersome ideas his mother had suggested for our upcoming wedding ceremony.
“As much as it seems like a wonderful idea, Jen… you know that that’s going to send the wrong message across, plus… you can bet your last cent that my mother would organize another grand ceremony even if we did elope. This one’s an inevitable situation we cannot evade even if we tried to.”
I groaned loudly, damning it all in my head.
“And what did I tell you about calling me Mr. Blackwell?” He sent a scowl my way… one that had me grinning sheepishly,

“Sorry, Adonis…” I corrected apologizingly, “But old habit
