She stared up at me with so much fear, I hated seeing her afraid, it hurt me.
It felt like a century passed before she went to speak again, I wanted to tell her to say it, to just end this torment and waiting in me.
"Valen, I'm pregnant." She said quietly, her tears slipping as she said the words.
Suddenly, I understood where her fear rooted from, that's definitely something to be afraid of. We not only went against the other King's, we went against the Church, God. If anyone found out, we'd be sentenced to burning. They'd burn us for going against the Church, and I honestly hadn't thought about it till now.
