“Lady Amelia,” June called out in a rather hushed tone, almost as if she didn’t want to disturb the sobbing twenty-three year old. “Lady Amelia…” “What?” This latter cried out at her. June had the decency not to flinch for she had probably expected the outburst. Amelia reasoned she must be a sight with her running nose and her puffed eyes. She sniffled and wiped her tears angrily. “How could he do that to me?” She asked before she choked on a sob. In a moment, almost as if merely thinking of Liam made him appear, he instructed June to leave and then told Amelia in his signature distant voice, “I’m sorry.” “Am I not enough?” She cried out, her tears running down her cheeks with renewed vigor. “Had I known I would never be more than a good f**k, I would have never slept with you…”
