Amelia and Liam spent all of three days in contented peace – stolen kisses in the long corridors of the castle during the day and ardent lovemaking in her bedchambers at night – before the spell was to be broken.
The wake-up call came in the form of grim ministers demanding an urgent meeting.
Although Liam insisted that she did not attend the meeting, Amelia who had grown a backbone the last few days said she’d rather be with him when he had to confront them. She had a feeling the ministers wanted her gone for some reason or another. And she was sure it could turn bloody if Liam was to be challenged.
When Liam and Amelia made their entrance together in the conference room, there were some hushed protests of indignation which soon quieted down – under Liam’s glare no doubt.
