Polly was quick to grab him, afraid he would bolt. “Don’t be angry. I was just so worried because you were so distant back then. She didn’t tell me, but the pieces of advice she gave were plenty. I was able to guess and she had no choice but to confirm it. Are you angry?”
He sighed, holding her tighter, “I’m not. I’m sorry I made you worried.”
“I thought you were upset that I finally got pregnant and that you didn’t really want to have a child.” She finally aired her complaint, wanting to hear his reassurance.
