“You look better. What happened?” Sab asked her son when she first noticed it.
Alex managed a grin, “I’m spending time with the wolves. It felt like being with her, too. I just thought I would have something to talk to her about when she comes back. She loved those wolves, I figured she would want to know what they did while she was gone.”
Sab was relieved. “That’s good. I think she will love that, knowing you’re taking care of them in her behalf. When someone’s important to you, whatever’s important to them becomes important to you as well.”
He couldn’t deny that. “Hmm. And I think it will show people that even if she’s not currently present, she’s someone I still care about. I don’t want them to think otherwise.”
“That’s true, too.”
