“I hope you were comforted by thoughts of me.” He didn’t dare to tease her, not when he knew she’d been on her own and was likely lonely.
Luna glanced at him and smiled. She was. He was her goal. She knew she would eventually meet him.
“When you arrived at the pack, you must have had a hard time adjusting. I’m sorry I was of no help. I feel terrible about it now.” Even though he has made a blanket apology for everything he did wrong, apologizing for specific things seemed to be the right thing to do.
“I have expected it. Actually, I have already seen some of it. I knew how you and the others would react upon learning about my existence. And I understand. I would doubt myself, too, if I were in your shoes.”
