Alpha Female Vs. Alpha

Chapter 4

*Diana Pov

    I am currently in a staring contest with two of the most feared Alpha's in our continent and his jack ass of a son. Well formally feared. If he is here asking for our help against another pack then he can't be to feared right now. Rick isn't even looking at me anymore, i guess he is more affected by this than he is letting on. I know because i can feel it to, just saying that i Might reject Rick has my heart tangled into a hundred knots and i barely even know the guy. I have never really spoken to him before today. 

"Diana. Please let's not be rash. You coming with us to our pack will not only benefit us but you as well. You are the type of Luna my son is going to need to help us get our pack on track."

"I'm sorry Caleb but i made it quite clear. I am not willing to give it all up to stand there by his side while he makes all the decisions and pop out pups. That's not what i want. I to have Alpha blood in me so w-

"Alright that's enough! I thought you were all mature enough to be left alone and have a civil conversation with one another but you aren't even on the correct topic! Have you forgotten why you came her Caleb? It was to ask for our help with a neighbouring pack not my daughter! We will figure this all out but we have more pressing matters at hand. Don't you agree."

I look over to my mom and she really knows how to shut down a room. I have seen her shut my father up with one glance and that is no easy feat. "I'm sorry mother that was not my intention. But if you want someone to blame, blame these three sex-

"I do not even want to hear you finish that sentence Diana. If you want to be an Alpha some day then you need to learn how to keep your feelings in check even when you are disagreeing with someone. Your father and Caleb are still Alpha's that more than deserve your respect. Understood?"

I know there is no right answer to this. I got to emotional but they are also in the wrong. 

"Diana U-N-D-E-R-S-T-O-O-D?"

"Yes understood."

"Good no you and Rick leave the room so i can talk to your father and Caleb alone."

Rick looks over to his father and waited for his dad to give him the nod that he agrees with my mother. He has barely said anything really, but when he does something inside me goes weak in the knees and i hate it. No wonder my dad was so opposed to mates at first. I can't really see an outcome where everyone is happy.

Rick and i leave the room and i waited for my mom to slam the door in my face before walking away. How does she do it. She is always so confident in everything she say's and does. And here i can barely keep everything in check long enough to show people how serious i am. I turn back to Rick and he is just staring at me, he must be as confused as i am. I don't know what to make of all of this. I'm sure he doesn't either.

"Would you like something to eat Rick? Or maybe a drink?"

"No."

"No?"

"Did that come out as a question? Yea i said no."

"What is your problem?"

"I don't know what's yours?"

"I have a problem with people coming into my home and telling me what i am and am not going to do simply because i am a female. I am just as capable as you to run a pack as an Alpha. I have been training for it my entire life. Why should i be the only one sacrificing everything?"

"Your not. I am sacrificing plenty by simply accepting you as my mate.":

Shocked not even sure what to say at this point, Rick walks past me and out the front door. I don't want him to be my mate either but i can't help but feel hurt by what he just said. I don't know what i am doing. What am i going to do?

*Evie Pov

    "Alright can someone explain to me how all of that escalated?"

They are both giving each other that look boy's give each other when they are trying to get their stories straight. Fucking children. These two have not changed one bit over the years. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Right now i am leaning towards bad.

"One of you better start talking. Now."

"Alright alright love really i don't know why Diana blew up like that. She always knew that this was a big possibility."

"What was?"

"Her being someone's Luna. I think she will be a great one and so does Caleb."

"Really? And did you boy's ask her or tell her what was going to happen to her?"

"What do you mean? She is mated to the Alpha's son. That's how it goes. That's how it was for you and me and Caleb and Sophia."

"Aiden this isn't the same and you know that. Diana has been training to be Alpha not someone second in command Luna. She has had this dream since she was little and the second she meets her mate that's it? Done and dusted? If that is the case then why train her at all?"

"Evie if i can jump in her, i believe Diana is the perfect Luna for my son. She is exactly what he needs to help us get our pack on track. I really do believe that this will work for everyone."

"Everyone but Diana? Why does she have to be the one to give it all up? She also has the bloodline of an Alpha so why can't Rick join our pack and help her lead instead?"

I know struck a nerve. Good. These two morons need to see that what they are doing isn't helping anyone. All they are doing is driving our children further away from us. And for what? To gain control and power? It was this type of thinking that got my people killed in the first place and i will not let Diana be put in that kind of environment.

"Eve i agree with Caleb. His pack needs help. More help than us simply helping him fight off a pack. They need strong leaders to help his people believe in them again. Diana can help them achieve that goal. She is strong, powerful and she would do anything for her people."

"Right well at the risk at sounding like a complete bitch here Diana and Rick aren't mated yet so therefore Caleb's pack isn't her people. And do you really think putting all that weight and pressure on her is going to make her want to take all that on? You are basically telling your only daughter i don't think you are good enough to run our pack so go to their's instead. Are you really prepared to lose her over this? Because i guarantee you, you will lose her."

"Alright then love. Do you have any ideas that can make everyone happy?"

"Yes actually i do. But only if both Rick and Diana both agree to do it. I think we should merge our packs and have them run it as Alpha and Luna."
