9: All Part of the Mission

Magnus was true to his word. He had the stamina and technique to back it up. Faith had never felt so satiated after a romping session with someone, human or werewolf. She was nearly boneless on the bed, her fingers and toes still tingling with the pleasure she'd felt over and over and over again. Magnus had laid down fluffy hotel towels before he began to rearrange Faith's guts with how good and hard he pounded into her. He had been determined to get Faith to squirt multiple times, and the towels were so they could simply tug them off and lay back on the still dry bedding. "I've gotta say," Faith started, her chest still heaving as Magnus pulled her closer to him. Their naked, sticky bodies, covered both in sweat and other bodily liquids, were pressed together in a slightly uncomfortable manner. But Faith's legs were not about to move any time soon, and Magnus had spent so much energy trying to satisfy Faith for some reason. "I'm curious about what brought this whole thing on." She stroked her hand up and down his arm, tracing the lines of his tattoos. Magnus' eyes were half-lidded, much like Faith's. She was only somewhat aware that they'd been at it for two, nearly three hours, and their bodies were calling for rest. "I was hoping it would entice you not to make such a fast escape again." The soft smirk on his face was too attractive for Faith's muddled brain. She was held in the Head Alpha's arms as they both dozed off. Faith was awake not even thirty minutes later. Her body never felt safe enough to sleep in unknown places for long. And even if her exhaustion was too great to resist the temptation of slumber, her nightmares ensured she woke up a moment later. Faith was grateful that her movement hadn't woken up Magnus, who was still in deep sleep, seeing that his mouth was even hanging open slightly. It was endearing to see such a dangerous, powerful man this way, if Faith was going to be painfully honest. Like the first time she slept with the Head Alpha, Faith extracted herself from his hold. She checked the time on her phone. 7:07 p.m. Faith cleaned up in the bathroom without making any noise, using a dry towel and tying her hair into a half-ponytail. She pulled her dress back on and her heels, the carpet covering the sound of her footsteps. She left the room with her purse, knowing that she would need to bypass Magnus' men while the Head Alpha was still asleep. Piolo Cruz was still waiting outside the hotel room. He was sitting on a chair he pulled from somewhere, a to-go cup in his hand. As soon as he spotted Faith with the eye not covered by the black eyepatch, the man stood at attention. Faith smiled at him and shut the door with the barest noise. She ignored the slight twitch of Piolo's nostrils, knowing the werewolf could smell both her scent and Magnus'. She'd lost the ability to feel that kind of embarrassment somewhere between her third and fourth alpha kill. Before Piolo could even ask, Faith pulled the half-empty cigarette pack from her purse. "Need to step out for a moment. If Magnus wakes up, tell him I'll be back." Piolo's brows knitted together but he nodded. She was half-tempted to ask what happened to his eye, but she could do that another time. There was a more pressing matter at the moment. Faith leisurely made her way down the hallway. As soon as she was out of Piolo's sight, she pulled out her phone. She scrolled through the contacts list of mostly fake numbers, clicking on one that had the name Coffee Delivery. "Hey, doll!" A woman with a thick accent answers on the first ring. Faith kept her voice barely above a whisper as she stood in front of the elevator doors. "Is it done?" "Yup. The cameras placed in the lobby and the parking lot in the basement are frozen now. I can only keep hold of these for around five minutes before hotel security suspects something wrong and kicks me out of their system. Which means you may have less time than that to do this." The elevator dinged! when it stopped on Faith's floor. "Thanks, Sugar." "Not a problem. Call me when you're done." The elevator had mirrors inside, and she fixed her appearance just a bit more. There was nothing to be done about her splotchy make-up. Although she didn't look as gross as she felt, nobody would be able to deny that she looked and smelled like s*x. Faith had to go through the lobby before she could ride on the elevator with access to the lower floors. She walked confidently through the lobby, knowing the frozen cameras would not be able to capture her coming and going from the elevators. There were only one or two guards stationed in the hotel's underground parking lot. Faith spotted one even as he was all the way to the other side of the elevator, the neon color of his vest giving away his location. Quickly, she slid off her heels so she'd be as silent as possible. She had four minutes. Faith padded across the space to where Magnus had parked his car earlier, the man insisting on parking it himself instead of letting the valet do it (probably one of his own safety precautions). It was important that she remained invisible. Faith hid behind pillars and cars whenever the guard would turn to look at her general vicinity. There were hotel valet drivers coming and going in vehicles as well, and she had to make sure she was practically invisible. Nobody should be able to spot her, because anybody could describe how she looked to Magnus or his men and they'd instantly know she was the one who bugged Magnus' car once they found out. Three minutes were left when Faith finally made it to Magnus' car. Nearly kneeling on the ground, Faith pulled the tracking plant from the secret zipper of her purse. The device was made mostly of plastic, and as long as the device remained stuck to the car and within the state, they could track Magnus' exact location for forty-eight hours. Faith placed it on the underside of Magnus' car, near the passenger side of the door. She made sure that it clung to the metal before Faith made her way back towards the elevator, the same routine being more tedious than necessary because she was avoiding everyone's eyes. Faith had two minutes left. She put her heels on in front of the elevator and hid behind a wall to light her cigarette, taking a few inhales despite not really needing (or wanting) to. Werewolves would be able to smell whether she smoked or not. She pressed the remainder of her cigarette on top of a metal trash can and tossed it away before pressing the elevator button. It was easy to slip past the guests once more in the lobby, with Faith sticking to the walls to avoid getting too close to anyone. Only once she's safely inside the elevator with no sign of security finding out their surveillance cameras were tampered with did she pull out her phone from her purse to call her contact again. "It's done, Sugar," she told the woman on the phone. "That's great!" Sugar was always a little too enthusiastic. "I'm relinquishing control over the security cameras." "Thank you." "So... Is number one on the list also number one in bed?" Faith snorted, leaning on the mirror inside the elevator and catching her breath. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she felt how wobbly her knees still were from being with Magnus. "Sugar, please." "I'm curious! You're gonna kill him anyway. Bedroom secrecy does not apply here." "I'm not getting rid of him yet," Faith swallowed. "I have things to collect." "Soon then. Just tell me! Is he any good?" Faith sighed good-naturedly but relented, "The best I've had so far." "Oooh, doll. The temperature just went through the roof!" She smiled, nearly chuckling at Sugar's misplaced optimism. Talking to Sugar like this was practically the only thing that made Faith's chest feel lighter during missions. The red number showed that Faith had reached the sixth floor again. "I gotta go." "Enjoy it while it lasts, dollface!" ----- As Faith re-entered the hotel room, Magnus was stepping out of the bathroom. Faith tilted her head, admiring the muscles on display because the Head Alpha was only in a white towel. Droplets were sliding down his glistening torso, highlighting the planes of his built physique. "If you had waited, I would have joined you in there," Faith flirted. Magnus gave her a once-over before walking towards the walk-in closet. He flipped the switch on, revealing two suits hung-up on wooden hangers. "Thought you left again." Faith kicked off her shoes again and followed him, although she stood outside the closet to lean against the doorframe. "I told your mysterious bodyguard I was only going for a smoke. I thought he'd pass the message." Magnus settled on which dress shirt he'd wear with the blazer and slacks before he turned to look at Faith again. "That bodyguard's name is Piolo—" Faith knew that already. "—and he's my third-in-command." Faith did not know that. She had more news to tell her handler. Pretending not to be an expert in werewolf Packs and their hierarchy, Faith asked, "Third? And in command of what?" Instead of answering, Magnus pulled her close. Water fell from his dark bangs onto Faith's bare shoulders. The Head Alpha had left hickeys near Faith's neckline but not directly on her neck. Magnus stared at the petechiae he left on Faith. "I like that you smell like me." Faith raised a brow. "I thought you liked my natural scent?" "I like our scents intertwined." He leaned down, gently kissing one of the hickeys near Faith's clavicle. Faith wrapped her arms around him, making her arms wet. She hummed. "You tell me stuff, then when I ask, you change the topic. I don't mean to push, but you're still an enigma to me." Magnus pulled back and took Faith by the jaw, using his hold to tilt her head up before devouring her mouth, his tongue immediately seeking access. Faith was rendered powerless by this sudden show of dominance, sure now that Magnus believed she went out only to smoke since he could taste it on her tongue. Their lips made a wet noise when Magnus disconnected their mouths. He looked down at Faith with hooded eyes, his hand still holding her jaw. Faith let herself be kept in that position. After a few seconds of the Head Alpha just holding her close, he spoke, "Faye Moore, I am attending an auction a week from now. I want you to be my plus-one." An auction. The New Order government has never recorded any official auctions which Magnus had gone to. The next smile on Faith's face was coy, almost shy. Like the first night they met. "You mean, like a date?" The Head Alpha leaned down and, instead of another passionate make-out, his lips only kissed Faith chastely before he murmured against her lips, "Yes, like a date. I am asking you to accompany me so we could go on our first date." Faith ignored the warm, tingly feelings in her stomach. It's all part of the mission, she reminded herself. If she did not find Magnus attractive, this undercover mission would be less convincing to the Head Alpha and his observant men. It's all part of the mission. "I'd be happy to."
