The next day, Magnus told Faith they'd be going somewhere special, and that she should clear her afternoon.
Faith pretended to spend a few minutes in her office moving around schedules with non-existent clients. She had to do this because after having lunch with Magnus and his two most trusted lieutenants, Faith had come back to her office and saw her pretend schedule notebook had been in a different spot where she had left it.
Someone had gone through her things with or without Magnus' knowing. Faith had thought of the chances that Magnus would take Faith out to the middle of nowhere today to kill her because whoever rifled through her things had found a clue that Faith was not who she said she was.
