The following morning, Venus awoke, nestled comfortably in Malcolm’s bed. She had never felt so content in her life. Her only complaint was that Malcolm was no longer in bed with her. His side was noticeably empty. Reaching across to his side, she did as she’d done the morning before. She felt for any lingering warmth from his body that would give her some indication as to how long he’d left her side. However, the sheets were cold to the touch, letting her know he’d been gone for a while. She sighed; figuring limited sleep was the price he paid for being a business mogul. From what little she’d seen, he kept unusual hours. Although he’d been home early the previous night to have dinner with her, she didn’t know if it was the norm or if he’d made a special allowance because she was there.
