Emily’s POV I stepped over the threshold into a breathtaking open-plan living space. It was all clean lines, minimalist furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out onto a private, beautifully lit garden. It was the complete opposite of von Oberhaus's trophy-filled lair. This was a sanctuary. "It's beautiful," I said, my voice a little awed. "Thank you," he said simply, closing the door.
