My relationship with Daisy had changed since I’d discovered I was going to be a mother. When I mentioned that I had no idea how to raise a kid the other day, Knox pointed out that I was already helping to raise one. I’d mostly thought of my relationship with Daisy as that of a nanny, but the alphas were her guardians.
And I was their mate, but it felt in name only. It didn’t feel real. My bed was never empty at night, but it was wonderful. I was doted on, but there wasn’t an alpha to be found during the day.
When Daisy started yawning, I glanced at the clock. Nearly nine. It was definitely her bedtime, but I knew she wouldn’t sleep until the movie was finished and I’d read her at least one book. Luckily, there was only about ten minutes left of the movie. I knew it by heart now.
