It had been a busy work for both Adrian and Lisa.
They barely got to spent sometimes together.
They school was busy too with students roaming all over the library and the lecture halls.
It was on Sunday, a day before they started their end semester exams.
Lisa and Adrian went to Church together and after church Lisa excused herself to go to her house.
She had a paper in the morning so she has to thoroughly revise for the paper.
She then thought of Lesley, her best friend who cheated on her with her boyfriend.
Lesley never made any attempt to apologize to Lisa over the incidence that happened over one week ago, she gave Lisa a cold shoulder and Lisa was good with that.
She was done making her dinner and was preparing herself to start taking her good when her phone started vibrating from the couch.
She hurriedly took it and pressed the receive button, her childhood friend Lydia was on the other end
"Hey lisa"
"Hey Lydia long time I missed you"
" I missed you too dear, when is the last time we last spoke"
"Been a while for sure, how's school?"
" School's fine, just exams and I'm hoping to meet you once we go back home"
" Me too I have a paper tomorrow morning that's what im working on, I don't want getting supplementaries you know?"
Lisa asked and Lydia giggled on the other end.
" Ooh yeah I know and same thing here, how's Tyler?"
Unknown to Lydia, Tyler was now Lisa's past, she had already gotten over him, she had already moved on with her life and happy with Adrian, Lisa sighed on the other end and face palmed herself.
Despite everything, Lydia had been nothing but a close and true friend to her, although she was in a different campus but she still called and visited her several times in Narok, Lisa also visited her in Nairobi on weekends if she was free.
She had forgotten about lydia, as she was stressing herself over Tyler she had forgotten about lydia and focused on Lesley who was nothing but a backbiter.
She was regretting why she put all her trust in a stranger rather than talking to her best friend.
" Ooh my God Lydia I'm so sorry"
" Wait why are you sorry, what happened?"
" There's something you need to know, things happened and I never told you about,I'm so sorry bestie"
" Hey Lisa it's okay I understand sometimes people get all worked up but depends on what you want to tell me"
"Tyler broke up with me"
"Wait what?! What do you mean Tyler broke up with you, what happened"
"Ooh Lydia it's been a while, six months ago,you knowing the December holiday you didn't come home for the holiday"
" Yeah I spent it with Anita, my elder sister you know, I wanted to come during the long holiday, you still remember our plan?"
" Ooh yeah I do, so like I was saying, Tyler broke up with me six months ago and.."
" Lisa! Six months really and you never bothered to feel me about it, you've been talking to me like everything's fine yet you have been hurting because of that son of a b***h!"
Lydia was not only mad at Lisa but at Tyler too for dumping her best friend, it was all evident from her tone, she was mad, Lisa knew Lydia was right,she had been a bad friend to her and she deserved everything Lydia said.
" I'm sorry Lydia I was all worked up and I forgot to tell you that"
"It's okay I forgive you bestie,so are you still single I hook you up with my buddies over this place ,you know how cute they are more so Keith"
"Ooh no Lydia I moved on"
"And who's the lucky guy, care to tell me?"
" I was going to do that, his name is Adrian"
"I hope he's treating you better than Tyler, you deserve nothing but happiness baby girl"
"Thanks sweets, Adrian Is a cool guy, I hope you'll meet him one day"
" No girl it's not one day, it's next week, you'll take me out as a punishment for failing to tell me about what happened, that will only be fair"
" I saw that coming girl, so I expect you on which day"
" Friday next week, then we can party and finally head home together on Monday, how's that?"
" That sounds like a great idea,see you then"
" See you, have a goodnight and success in your exams"
" Thanks girl, goodnight too, success"
As she placed her phone back on the bed, she sighed.
She has been a bad friend to Lydia but she thanked God Lydia was a forgiving person and they'll make it up.
She dug into her dinner some minutes later.
After perusing through her notebook for a while, she decided to sleep, she set her alarm at five and changed into her transparent night dress.
Just as she was about to switch off the lights, her phone vibrated and she reached for it.
" Hey babe"
Adrian's voice came through, she has missed him
" Hey babe, how you?"
" I'm good I missed you, are you done with your revision?"
"Ooh yeah was about to sleep"
" What are you wearing in bed today?"
" Just my night dress why"
" You know why baby, I wanna have a look at it, can you snap it?"
" You know how much I hate pics Adrian, say something else"
"Ouch I'm hurt, you promised not to call me Adrian again remember"
" But that's your name"
" I know I know but I love it when you call me babe"
" Okay babe, sorry"
She giggled and Adrian laughed on the other end.
" You forgiven, I want to see you babe, who knows maybe tomorrow we won't get a chance to meet, please"
" Ooh yeah, exams period, so how do you want it done?"
"I want a video call with you"
They ended up video calling for thirty minutes before Lisa retired to bed, she was determined she was going to improve on her next exams because she was fully armed and prepared for the papers.
