Magmus’s POV
My heart pounded in anxiety as the swamp creature swam around the rock. Any moment it could strike, and all I has was my luck and wits to save me from a situation like this. My eyes searched around for an answer. There were trees spread out at a distance away from where I was located. I calculated the speed that this creature was taking to complete one round and the approximate time that I would take to swim towards the nearest tree. There was safer land beyond the trees, if only I could outwit the creature and reach the tree on time, I would be safe.
“I just need to take this plunge, it’s a do or die situation Magmus!” I told myself and for the last time kept my eyes on the tip of the swamp creature’s head that was cutting through the water as it moved around.
