We pull up outside the cabin in the two cars. The guys went in one, while us girls went in the other. It gave us more room for luggage and shopping. It has been a fun road trip. I am eager to be here. I needed to get away from it all, and I couldn’t think of anything better than a cabin in the woods that was away from reality. My cell will be switched off all weekend, because anyone who I want to contact me is here with me. I brought my camera with me to take photos, so I don’t need to use my cell.
“You will love this place,” Alison beams.
“I am sure I will.”
We climb out of the car, grab our bags, and head inside. I am in complete awe of the place. It is like one of those cabins you see in the romance movies where a couple end up stuck at together but don’t get along, only to fall in love at the end.
“Do you like it, beautiful?” Arlo asks, appearing at my side and placing his hand on the small of my back.
I turn to face him and smile, “Yes, it is beautiful.”
“I thought you would like it.” He smiles.
The guys have been sweet to me and not even tried anything after I told them I needed to keep my distance from them. Well, not a complete distance, but I have managed to keep my clothes on around all three of them for the last week. It has not been easy for me since my body has been craving, but I choose to follow my heart and mind because it is what is best for me for now. What my ex said to me had been playing around in my head. I know I shouldn’t let it bother me, but it does. I am not in the right mindset to be having intimate relations with the guys.
“Right, let’s pick rooms. There are enough for one person to a room, but if you girls want to share, you can do that too.” Parker smiles.
“Share?” Alison asks, glancing over at me.
I nod, “Sure.”
“Okay, you two can have the bigger room with the king bed. Us guys will take the others,” Tyson says.
We all head to our rooms, unpacking our things before gathering for lunch in the living room area.
“Who wants to go exploring after lunch?” Arlo asks.
“Not me. Today, I just want to chill in the cabin,” Alison answers.
“I will come with you since I have never been,” I reply.
Tyson and Parker decide to stay here with Alison.
“It looks like it is only you and me, sweetness.” He says, smiling at me.
I smile back, “I am fine with that.”
Alison and Parker started on lunch. We weren’t having anything fancy, just grilled cheese and salad, something to keep us going until dinner tonight. We were having a BBQ as long as the weather stays dry and calm.
“Tomorrow, we should have a swim in the lake,” Parker suggests as he makes lunch.
I nod eagerly, “Yes, I would love that.”
I don’t know what I will be swimming in, though. I didn’t bring a bikini because I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to swim in the lake. I will work something out.
“We could make a day of it. Have breakfast here, then we can pack a lunch and take some coffee and beers with us. We will probably have it to ourselves,” Parker says.
Everyone agreed to the plan, weather permitting, of course. I hope it is nice because I really want to go swimming. If I had a place like this, I would try to come every weekend. I don’t know why they don’t use the place more. Then again, they are always so busy, they don’t have much free time.

Arlo and I had spent the last few hours exploring. Arlo had been having a lot of fun showing me around. He knows the place. It is so beautiful and peaceful—all the beautiful trees and flowers. The birds singing. I love being amongst nature.
“Come on, beautiful. We can sit by the lake for a bit before we need to head back for dinner.”
I nod. He takes my hand in his, leading us towards the lake edge to take a seat. He slips his arm around me, and I rest my head on his shoulder. There is not another person in sight.
“How are you doing, beautiful? I know you have been having a rough week.”
“I am fine, much better now,” I reply and turn to face him.
It is the truth. I am better than what I was.
He reaches in and caresses my cheek, “Promise?”
I smile, “Yes, I promise.”
“Okay, but you know where I am if you want to talk, right?”
“I do, thank you,” I say and kiss his cheek.
He grins when I pull away. I snicker at his cute reaction. He is so manly and sexy all of the time, so I like it when his cuter side comes out.
Arlo tucks the hair behind my ear, “Beautiful.” He whispers.
I look down at the ground and blush. He chuckles and places his finger on my chin, making my eyes meet his again, “Cute. I like how I can still make you blush.”
“I am not blushing.” I protest.
Arlo raises his brow at me, “Really? You know I have eyes and can see your red cheeks, right?”
“It is warm.” I pout.
He laughs, “Okay, sweetness, if that is your excuse.”
I huff, “It is.”
We both know it is a lie. We become silent, staring at one another. Arlo places his hand on my face. I bite my lower lip, my eyes diverting between his and his lips. They look inviting and I have missed them. I shouldn’t, though. I am supposed to be staying away from them.
I watch Arlo’s lips curl into a smirk, “Ha, you want to kiss me badly right now.”
The only word to come out of my mouth in response is hmm.
A smug look covers his face: “I will take that as a yes.”
I slap his arm playfully, “You are imagining things.”
I go to turn away, but before I can, he closes the space between us and claims my lips in his, kissing me. I whimper, instantly kissing back. He moans into the kiss and brings me closer to him, deepening the kiss. I slip my arms around his neck, enjoying every second of it. Arlo slides his fingers into my hair. Damn, I have missed his kisses more than I realised.
Our lips part after a minute. I open my eyes to be me with Arlo smiling brightly at me. I can’t help but do the same back. I should have known he would be the one who would make me break first without even trying.
“I knew you couldn’t resist me for long,” he teases and nudges my side.
I roll my eyes, “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” I laugh.
He slips his arm back around my shoulder, and I lie my head on his shoulder. I am happy sitting here right now until we need to make our way back.
