25 - Nobody is Alone

"Honey, are you alright?"
I open and close my eyes a few times. Squinting, I see my mom hovering over me. Knowing I have my mom with me gives me an instant feel of calm and relief.
"Aww, did the big bad Alpha need his mommy?" Zain echoes in my head but I can feel he's not his usual self, despite the very typical comment.
"Good to have you back, man. Although next time maybe you could give me a heads up before taking a vacation?"
Zain's only reply is a scoff. I can tell his energy is very low.
The splitting headache I have is making it difficult for me to focus my eyes and look around me, but I'm almost certain there's a lot of people in the room, not just my mom.
Goddess, what the f**k happened to me?
