Duke Gordon, that had been the second name supplied by the waiter as one of those who plotted to have Bella killed at the night of the party. Apparently, the Duke had done his research and discovered Castor's hatred for the ex werewolf hunter, so he reached out to the old hunter, who then provided the deadly wolfsbane as the best way to get rid of her. Gordon already had a few spies working in the Palace, of which the waiter had been one of them, so all he had to do was secretly deliver the wolfsbane to the waiter, ordering him on what to do.
The Duke may have lived for so long, but he wasn't smart enough to cover his tracks. The waiter was supposed to have left the country that night, but instead, he stayed behind and waited a few more days before leaving, which was when he got caught. G
