I let out a soft chuckle, taking a deep breath to calm myself. I had been trying to stay calm for Lucie but…that shattered me probably more than it should have. It was like, watching Adaline get hurt and die…it was like listening to Dani torture Kalia. But…it was too late to turn back now. As horrifying as it all is…I couldn’t do anything else. Michael said he had already reported to my father. I had been blocking everyone out, keeping my mind closed, making sure he couldn’t talk to me. No one could talk to me. Even still…that was so much harder to watch than I thought it would be. If I could barely deal with Adaline dying and coming back to life, how could I handle knowing what they would do to Kalia?
