Brooke Evan and I were sitting on my sofa after breakfast with a coffee. Evan had an extra strong one to try to help cure his hangover. I have been filling him in on last night. There wasn’t much to tell. He didn’t do much, not to my knowledge. “Do you remember our phone call?” I ask softly. “Briefly. Why did I say? There must have been something for you to ask that specific question.” He eyes me curiously. “You told me you were lonely, and I told you if you wanted to, you could f**k someone else.
