I am meeting the guys, but before I do, I am stopping to see Brooke at work. She asked me to drop her phone charger in since she forgot to lift it. I pivot through the crowd. The place is busy since it’s Friday night. I find my way to the bar, but I couldn’t see her.
I grab Sue’s attention, one of the girls who works alongside Brooke.
“Is Brooke around?” I ask.
“Yes, she is getting a few things in the stock room with Jackie.” She smiles.
“Am I allowed back there?”
