Harper’s POV
I was sitting in the living room listening to Brandon and Tyler argue about the movie Die Hard. Tyler said it’s not a Christmas movie and Brandon said that it was. I just shook my head at them. They asked my opinion and I said that I didn’t have one.
Nancy and the family left a little while ago to go get lunch and do some grocery shopping. Janet and Sabrina were upstairs with the boys while I played with Ella and her new book. Daisy was lying beside me snoring as she dreamed.
As I’m sitting there with Ella I get a phone call. I look and it’s the Patrol office. I looked at the time and knew it couldn’t be Caleb, besides he always calls me from his cell phone. What was going on? I just had this funny feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn’t right.
“Hello?”
