Days went by like a blur when I returned to school, my senses only awakening when I heard Hazel’s name. And her name was echoed everywhere around me.
“Did you hear that Hazel’s not a missing case?”
“I heard she ran away from home after the play.”
“I bet you she’s just hiding out somewhere from her parents.”
“Don’t say that! Her parents are super worried about her. Why would she up and leave like that?”
“Lilah,” Daphne called, snapping me out of my daze. We were walking back to her dorm after school, the summer sun beaming down on us. “Are you okay? Are you still sick? You look pale.”
I nodded although I wasn’t feeling the best. Since finals were over for seniors, we got out of school early until graduation. God, I missed finals! I studied so much for those. Oh well, I’m gonna die her
