Revived by the sounds of the audience applauding did I realize that the play was done. Through the lights, I could see the crowd standing to cheer as I bowed with the rest of the cast members. The curtains closed on us, shadowing us again in darkness, returning to reality. Several members ran up to be with large grins on their face. “You were so great out there, Lilah,” one of them complimented. “Nice job,” another said, giving me a thumbs up. Meekly, I accepted their compliments as I headed to the back to finally relax. All that time on stage, I lost myself to the character and only when it ended that I realized I wasn’t Abigail. When I spoke my last line, it dawned on me that I was meant to return to being Lilah once more. And with being Lilah, came a whole other set of problems. Ash
