With a burst of adrenaline, we ran off the premises, passing the calm lake and through the terrace of overbearing woodlands. Our hands never unfastened as we weaved through the thin branches and overgrown grass to make it to the road. I mainly followed Daphne’s lead since she knew exactly how to get to the entrance, knowing the coordinates of this town better than me. “How are you so brave, Daph?” I asked her, strolling down the edge of the road.
