“Lilah, do you really want my help?” Asher asked. A glint of ambiguous strain reflected in his eyes when he asked, still kneeling at my feet. I nodded, fearful of what would spill out his mouth. He took my hands in his reassuringly. “Then tell me the truth. Have you…have you been sleeping with my father in his office?” My throat tightened, body stiffening, the blood draining from my face.
