DRYSTAN’S POV — Her silence is deafening, but what kills me is the broken look in her eyes. When she didn’t show up at my penthouse, or answer her phone, I panicked. Somewhere deep inside my mind, I knew that nothing happened to her. I knew that she was safe, but the brutal thoughts of her lying in a ditch with her throat slit, or hanging upside down in her car, or worse— being trapped underneath another man against her will— it all consumed me, the idea of any of that happening wrapped around my mind in a black cloud, and I found myself tracking her cell, again.
