As I heard Aileen's experience with the transition, I felt my blood run cold. In some ways, it seemed she had endured a worse pain than I did because while mine was mainly physical, hers was a combination of bursting into flames and also witnessing the exact moment her mother had dropped her off at the doorstep of this orphanage.
