My eyes widened as I heard Alex's voice from the tree line. My body stiffened and I quickly pulled away from Andrew and jumped off his lap. Andrew had also stiffened and I heard him curse himself under his breath.
Alex was looking at both of us with shock and disbelief written on her face. She was shaking her head, her mouth was agape as she tried to make sense of what she had seen. She was standing in between the forest and the lake. After years of knowing her, of growing up with her, I knew when she was on the verge of losing her composure.
