I readied myself as I creeped towards the corner. I was about to leap out from around it when I smelled her. Her scent was tainted, but it was definitely hers. With a sudden urgency and with a shocked protest from Ava, I rounded the corner and stopped in my tracks. Amber gasped when our eyes met. First it was out of fear, but as soon as her eyes met mine it was out of relief. “Seth!” She uttered and her eyes clouded with tears. My cold heart thumped painfully in my chest, and I rushed over to her. I didn’t even notice that there were others with her. All I could focus on was that she was here, alive and right in front of me.
