Fate Brought Me Here

2003 Words
SHE has been driving around the town yet Prima was not able to see the store that her brother has told her to go. She has been on the road for two hours. She left the pack territory at six in the morning with no breakfast but a hot chocolate. She was running low on patience. It does not help that her stomach has been clamoring for food for about an hour. Prima decided to find a place where she could park the truck that she has been driving. She would look for the nearest diner. Food then asked where the Simmons’ are residing. In the correct order. She released a loud exhale when she climbed out of the driver’s seat. It felt so good to stretch her legs. It has been cramped in the driver’s seat for a while. For a werewolf shifter like her, she was not used to driving for a long period of time. Often, she exercised the love for running instead of being confined in the small space of the car. Though she runs instead of driving a car when doing some errand for the pack, she was required to learn how to drive a vehicle. For cases like this, going to towns where non-shifters like the human, they have to behave accordingly. Supernatural co-exist in the world. It was unfortunate that human has been oblivious of the fact that there are more dwellers in the world round from them. The vampires, witches and warlocks, werewolf shifters exist. Unbeknownst to the human dwellers, the supernatural co-exist with them for a long time. Some used the supernatural to warn the kids from going to the dark areas or in the forest. They thought it was just a way to warn the kids. It was unfortunate that it was a correct warning. Like humans, there was bad supernatural. Some went rogue not for personal reasons but because of uncertain circumstances. They were not given a chance to be the person that they wanted to be due to different reasons. Using her nose as a guide, Prima sauntered to the place where she could smell the delicious smell of the greasy burger. She closed her eyes when she collided with a small body followed by the hot liquid poured on the front of her shirt. Sweet and milky coffee assaulted nose. Frowning, her eyes went to the short woman in front of her. Prima sees nothing but a mop of brown hair that reaches on top of the petite woman’s nape. Slowly, the culprit that was holding the hot coffee raised her head. A soft gasp exits her mouth when their eyes meet. It was true. Her parents were right about mates. It was never a telltale. The world appeared to stop. It seems that everything revolved around them at the moment. She stared at the short woman. She is beautiful. Well, she leaned on the cute side than beautiful. Her wolf, Pansy, has been jumping in her head. She was wagging her tail in ecstasy. She was barking continuously that made Prima’s ears ring. Her mate’s button nose was sprinkled with freckles. The rounded, light brown eyes were hidden by a pair of black-rimmed glasses. A smile formed on her lips when she heard her mate sigh. Judging from the look on the other woman’s face, she already feels the pull of mate’s attraction. Prima noticed her mate swallowed. “Kiss me.” Grinning widely, she pulled the woman closer. She is very happy to oblige. Before their lips touch, Prima saw her eyes widen. It was euphoric. Imaginary fireworks exploded. It was far more beautiful than the firecrackers on New Year’s Eve. With mate’s mouth ajar, it was easier for Prima to insert her tongue into the other woman’s lips. Even for a person that knows nothing about kissing aside from what she heard from her brother’s activity with women, she followed what her heart desires. However, that glorious moment ended so soon when she felt being pushed a little. When Prima looked down. A smile was still painted on her lips. She can still feel the warmth of her mate’s lips on hers. The petite woman blinked her eyes in disbelief. She saw her mate cover her mouth. “Oh, my god!” Still in shock, the petite woman gave her one last look before walking away. Astounded, Prima watched her leave. Unmoving for a couple of seconds, she found herself following the woman. It was easier for her to catch her. Prima is gifted with long legs. “Hey. Hey!” “Dammit!” She heard the woman muttering under her breath. “Look, hey.” “Leave me alone.” “Miss, hey!” Prima grabbed for her mate’s hand. She let it go immediately when she halted. Unable to meet her eyes, she stood beside the smaller woman. “I’m sorry. I mean, I’m not sorry I kissed you.” Her mate sighed. “Look, I’m not really like this. I don’t know what came into me.” Oh, I know, mate. I exactly knew what came into you. Prima said to herself but did not say out loud. “This is awkward but I’m Prima. Prima Moonshadow.” Her mate raised her head. Prima was once again blessed to ogle the mesmerizing brown eye of her gorgeous mate. “Your name sounds like a novel character.” The tall woman smiled. “I’ve been told. I didn’t get your name.” “Carmen Lastrange.” “It was nice t0 meet you, Carmen.” She held out her hand that the other woman clasped with her own. Prima was no longer surprised when Carmen jolted at the touch of their hands. She, too, felt the minute flow of current in between their palms. “What the…” “It’s my time of the month. They said that the woman is more susceptible to tremors like that.” She explained at the unasked question on her mate’s face. “I didn’t know that. Is it a regular thing?” “Not really. Only to a few. I heard, when that happens, that person will become a special part of your life.” Carmen stared into her eyes. Her brown orbs were focused on hers. Prima can almost see her world revolving around the small woman. “How many people have you encountered with that ‘current’ thingy?” A smile formed on the tall woman’s lips. She could hear the jealousy in Carme’s voice. “Once. Today. I’m looking at her at the moment.” As if a button was turned on, a blush spread in her cheeks like a wildfire. “And I’m willing to keep that special person.” Carmen looked away. She was red in the face. “I’m not. I mean, I don’t do relationships.” She exhaled before she continued her blubbering. “I haven’t been into one. Not with a man, I mean. Or in anyone else.” Grinning widely, Prima responded. “Me, too. I don’t want to be forward but would you like to have breakfast with me?” “What?” A frown was marked on Carmen’s pretty face. The petite woman is looking back at her. “I just arrived in town. I haven’t consumed anything other than a cup of hot choco. Would you like to join me?” “I have work. I just buy coffee.” She chuckled when both of them looked at the coffee stain on her white shirt. The blush was back on Carmen’s face. “I have a bigger shirt at home.” “I have one in the car. I usually have a change of clothes whenever I travel.” “Great.” “How about lunch?” “W-what?” “I presume, you have a lunch break?” “Of course.” Prima nodded. “Can you point where I can have a hearty breakfast? I’m famished.” The petite woman pointed to the diner on the other side of the road. “They served breakfast until eleven. Every cent you spend on the food is worth it.” “I’ll be the judge of that. I will tell you my verdict when I see you at lunch.” “S-sure.” “Where can I see you at lunch?” “At the diner.” “It’s a date then.” The brown orbs widen. It made Prima laughed at her mate’s reaction. “I’ll see you later, Carmen.” Prima turned her back on the best thing that happened to her today. In spite of the losing patience that she almost had for not finding the Simmons just yet, at least she found the person that the mother of all werewolves has made for her. “We have a woman for a mate, Prima.” She halted on her feet when Pansy said that. She could almost see herself frowning as she stood still. For werewolf shifters, they speak with their wolf inside their head. Moreover, they can communicate with fellow members of the same pack. It was a gift given by the moon goddess plus the pre-determined soulmate. Or as often called the half of the soul of each werewolf. Luckily, Prima found her soulmate at nineteen years old. Although a werewolf can already identify her mate at seventeen, some others were unfortunate to find theirs later in life. Her brother, the incoming alpha of the Moonshadow pack, is already twenty-one yet he has not found the one fated for him. However, Peter Moonshadow was thankful that his mate was not around yet. He can still play around with any girls he likes to Prima’s chagrin. “Do you have an issue with our mate?” She asked as she crossed the road to the diner. “Of course not! Did you not see how beautiful she is? She’s perfect. And small, too. You can carry her in your arms, Prima.” “Damn, right. Even if she’s on the bigger size, I will accept her.” “Yes. I can’t wait to see our mark on her.” Marking is also a part of the werewolf’s mating. Once the werewolf found the other half of their soul, the mate pulls often started working. For most shifters, the marking immediately follows in twenty-four hours since it allows every shifter that the person is mated to one and it should be respected. It means a person is no longer available in the market. Prima wanted to laugh at her wolf’s excitement. She, too, wanted to mark her mate. But, since Carmen is human, they have a lot of work to do. A moment like this, she needs the help of her parents on how to court their mate into the life of the pack. She went back to the car to get the overnight bag. She needs to change her shirt. She has a lunch date later. She has to look presentable. The smell of delectable assaulted her nose upon entering the diner. The tables were full. She approached the counter. “What can I get you, young lady?” The middle-aged woman asked her. “Your breakfast special please.” “What’s your preferred drink?” “Just water, please. Where’s the restroom?” The woman pointed to the door on the left side. She gave the woman a grateful smile before she left. When she went back to the counter, she occupied the nearby chair. Her order was immediately served. “Enjoy. Coffee is free in case you want.” “Thank you.” At first bite, Prima already knew that every bite is worth every penny that she would pay. It appears that her mate knew where to spend the money. She knew good food, too. One point for Carmen. “Another point for being cute.” Pansy added. Prima shook her head. Of course, her wolf was right.
